It is a well appointed & tastefully decorated facility, with a full range of conveniences. Veronique & Jean-Luc gave us a warm & friendly welcome despite our late arrival, having driven from Scotland! Their Gite was very clean and we were delighted with the range of local produce they thoughtfully provided. We would love to return & will definitely recommend to friends. They provided great recommendations, and had generously stocked the fridge - so very helpful after a long drive with kids! The house was lovely and had plenty of room for our family. The pool area and gardens were beautiful and picturesque. Whether you want to relax or use the house as a base for exploring the area - it’s an ideal spot. Le Fitou has so much character, well-equipped , a beautiful garden and large pool. Jean Luc & Veronique are very kind and very discrete when using their private garden which adjoins yours. The area is perfect - great walks along the river, the canal du midi & the acres of vines. Coast about 35 mins & many beautiful villages/ things to visit in the area. Mirepeisset itself has a great bar/restaurant which does a superb menu du jour and a grocery store for croissants/bread & a myriad of useful things. We had a great break, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and well-equipped. Jean-Luc and Veronique were great hosts, making sure we were OK, booking the bistro on our first night, and giving us good suggestions for places to go. The area is lovely, there's a good range of things to do and places to visit, either on foot (for example the Canal du Midi down to Le Somail) or by car. The village Bistrot de la Placette is small, friendly and excellent, with plenty of other restaurants a short drive away (eg Table de Casino in Ginestas). In a car, from here, you're only a short and easy drive from both the coast and the fantastic local wine country (Minervois and Corbieres). We have just returned from having a wonderful stay at The Wine Makers House. We stayed in Fitou, the larger of the two properties. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable and the welcome basket that was provided was generous. Jean Paul and Veronique made us very welcome. The pool is such a good size and is kept extremely clean. There are two outside dining areas and a bbq should you want to use it. The village is delightful and the local bistro excellent. Do visit. We had a wonderful couple of weeks in the Winemaker's House, a great house, a really interesting area, and perfect weather. The house is well equipped with comfortable beds and a full set of kitchen equipment. The big pool is perfectly clean and wonderfully refreshing at all times of the day in a garden surrounded by magnificent trees and visited by swallows during the day and owls at night. To top it all, Vero and Jean Luc are the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful while not being intrusive at all. We arrived late and very hungry to find everything we needed for a slightly late supper which was a very welcome surprise. A really lovely couple. Impeccably clean and peacefully quiet, this spacious 3 bedroom gites in the village of Mirepeisset is a perfect relaxing retreat. Hosts, Jean-Luc and Veronique do everything they can to ensure guests are as comfortable and informed as they can be and language is not a barrier with Jean Luc’s trusty use of Google translate. Mirepeisset itself is quiet but La Somail, just 25 mins walk away is a beautiful Canal Du Midi side village with great restaurants and the gites is a great base for Beziers, Minerve and of course Carcasonne if you have a car.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
